Jakarta, INTI - Since late 2023, Indonesia has officially become a full member of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). FATF is an international organization focused on combating money laundering, terrorist financing, and the financing of mass destruction weapons (AML/CFT/CPF).
Yesterday, on April 18, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani attended the FATF Ministerial Meeting, held concurrently with the IMF-WB Spring Meeting.
During the meeting, Minister Sri Mulyani emphasized Indonesia's high dedication to enhancing compliance, transparency, and effectiveness in combating financial crimes, particularly in the realm of virtual assets. In 2023, the identified virtual asset seizures increased by 52% from just 10% previously.
Indonesia also commits to playing an active and constructive role in FATF's positive efforts to build a future of integrity and crime-free financial systems.
From the outcomes of the FATF Ministerial Meeting, it is evident that Indonesia is committed to facing global financial crime challenges, while affirming the country's role in maintaining overall financial system stability.
